SOUGHT, SHIPPED & STOWED

Spin a globe, close your eyes and point. Choose an adventure that leads to something you've always dreamed of or a destination you never thought you'd see. There isn't a place on the planet we wouldn't go... though we do have our favorites! As seekers and collectors, we're drawn to hubs of culture and art.

In any city or village around the world, markets and specialty shops carrying a taste of the local have lead to the most exciting journeys. Inspired by colors, textures, scents and scenes, we always search for the best handmade goods. Drawn in particular to ceramics and textiles, our travels have been influenced by curiosity to learn more and a desire to collaborate with makers of the things we admire so much.

Working with these master artisans, young apprentices and humble families to create unique pieces, we have amassed a collection of exceptional objects from around the world. Shipped and stowed in our workshop. Until now...

KEN GILLISPIE | Traveling Collector

Ken has personally discovered each artist or merchant  and works directly with them to create every piece Stowed ships home.

Hard to pin down, Ken has an active passport and prides himself in always knowing a trip is on the horizon.

Though he grew up traveling the US, these days you're more likely to find him relaxing on an island in Asia or browsing the markets of Central America.

In his earliest adventures Ken discovered the greatest pleasure came from meeting and connecting with locals to learn about both the cultural history and mundane day-to-day activities of every place. This fascination has led to the most stimulating and fulfilling  journeys.
